Actress Kate Winslet in a new interview openly talked about his attitude to excess weight.

42-year-old Hollywood star Kate Winslet has always fought with a variety of prejudices against female figures – ranging from obesity, to plastic surgery to “fit” their shape under the standard.

As it turned out from a fresh interview with Harper’s Bazaar, at the dawn of the career Kate had a complex about her looks: “I still don’t understand, how could become an actress with my then appearance. Even in kindergarten they called me fat, but my sisters have always been slim. I was overweight and unhappy, and this feeling has stayed with me all my life.”

“Now I’m more worried about the pressure of social networks on young girls. I think about the potential dangers of social networks that await the younger generation. It is important to realize how dangerous of a universal openness to children’s feelings of self-esteem, and the natural process of growing up. I don’t want to be an actress who once received an Oscar, and then disappeared from radar. I want to be the one who will be able to play a role in 90 years. Many fail to achieve this because they are too complacent,” added Winslet.
