The famous Opera singer, who bravely fought with cancer, died on 22 November in London. Today at the Novodevichy cemetery held the funeral procession, which was attended by relatives and friends of Dmitri Hvorostovsky. 
On Tuesday, November 28, one of the urns with the ashes of Dmitri Hvorostovsky was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow. Carry the famous Opera singer in the last path came more than a hundred people, including Iosif Kobzon, Larisa Dolina, Igor Krutoy, Iosif Prigozhin, Dmitry Dibrov, Pavel Astakhov and Deputy Minister of culture of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhuravsky.

Another capsule containing the ashes of the famous artist will arrive on Wednesday in his native Krasnoyarsk. Hvorostovsky wished to be buried in the two cities. Close artist executed his last will.
On the authoritative website of the award “Grammy” appeared information about the fact that Hvorostovsky was posthumously nominated. The artist fell into the category of “Best classical solo vocal album” with conductor Constantine Orbelian for the record “Sviridov: Russia Cast Adrift” (“Sviridov: Russia set sail”).
