Meeting guests were very personable
A variety of characters, who have honoured with their presence a closed presentation of the new book by Michael Sagara (he showed the public its 908-mi page work entitled “the Empire must die”), stunned even seasoned secular observers. Financial bigwigs and the descendants of famous Russian surnames (whose ancestors were among the main characters of the book), heads of TV and radio programmes, stars of politics and show business – Ksenia Sobchak embodied those and others at once – all arrived at the mansion Derezinski on Kropotkinsky pereulok (now the residence of the Australian Ambassador). And the live music (pianist improvised better than the pianists of the early 20th century) first enjoyed Russian cuisine in the same period, and then joined the quest, fronted by became the leading actor of the Gogol Center Nikita Kukushkin. Depicting the many characters of the book (from Grigori Rasputin to tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna), he spent the guests in the luxurious halls and rooms in art Nouveau style (architect Shekhtel once tried to glory).
Interestingly, some of the audience, well versed in the mess that is happening. Vladimir Pozner, for example, already had time to read the work of Michael Sagara, noted that it “is a wonderful sample of the work of the present researcher served by a very modern”. Here with Vladimir Putin not gonna argue, some titles of the episodes of the book which are: Black bride, Revolver, stick, ice, homeland. Enemy. The darkness, Rogues and thieves, the Mountaineers still one cut, Oysters and champagne, Who is the authority… etc.
The author, though noticed in the introduction that he is not a historian, and journalist, managed to combine documentary precision voltage detective. It happened and due to the fact that in “Empire …” Michael Zygar has used material from their own project, “1917. Free story”, the most popular in Runet site on the Russian revolution. And the atmosphere there is so lively and natural that many users start to write different characters in the beginning of XX century. I advise you to flee abroad to Nicholas II, asking for advice from Lenin, warned against conspiracy of Trotsky, admire the talent of Kazimir Malevich. Or this, for example, request a certain Gregory to Vladimir Mayakovsky: “Publish his poems on the page more often so that they stained my news feed”.
