In Italy, in the mountains of Carrara, started shooting a new film
Andrei Konchalovsky’s “The Monster. Vision” (working title of the film “the Sin”).
Epic film of the Russian-Italian production is filmed in the tradition of
classic historical drama and will be an important step in the cooperation between
countries in the field of culture and art. The picture is dedicated to the life of the great
artist and sculptor Michelangelo Buonarroti.

In the new film by Andrei Konchalovsky intends to show
several episodes from the life of Michelangelo, based on the genre of “vision”. As
says the Director, the storyteller can dream anything, and always human
more interesting than what is reflected in official documents. However, the film
removed with stringent requirements for historical accuracy, which
watch the best Italian consultants and experts in the field of art.

“I would like to convey not only the essence of the figures Michelangelo
but the smells, colors and flavor of the era, so full of inspiration and beauty, and in
the same time bloody and brutal — emphasizes Konchalovsky. — The creation

young people who have a very short memory, about the greatness of the figure of Michelangelo”.

Filming will take place in the regions of Tuscany and Lazio
where he lived and worked the great Michelangelo. The crew will begin work in Monte
Altissimo (quarry HENRAUX), and then continue in Carrara, Montepulciano,
Florence, Arezzo, Caprarola and, of course, in Rome.

The role of Michelangelo takes the Italian actor Alberto Teston,
the role of the Marquis Malaspina Umberto Orsini, and the role of Pope Julius II – Massimo de Francovich,
in addition, the Director plans to work actively with Amateur
actors. The picture will be filmed in Italian. The Director plans
to complete installation of the project in the next year.
