Favorite holidays are getting closer, but the new year mood still not back? We propose to fill the house with holiday atmosphere in the literal sense of the word and make a fragrant garland with his own hands. Smells of citrus and cinnamon will help you easily tune in and delight fans of eco-friendly decor!
Materials and tools:
- 2-3 balloon;
- vinyl glue or decoupage glue;
- ribbon and twine;
- essential oil (e.g. eucalyptus);
- dried orange slices (we will explain how to make below);
- 4 cinnamon sticks;
- needles, tassel.
The process of making aromatic garlands
Decorative balls made from twigs or threads can be ready to buy, but you can make your own. For this we need to mix the vinyl glue with water in a ratio of 1:1, adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil. Inflate the balloons to about the size of a small orange and do not forget to tie up at the tip.
Begin wrapping the ball with twine, not missing a single plot. This should be done quite tightly, but so that you could still see the ball through the thread. When the ball is wrapped, take an old brush and start to carefully coat the threads with a glutinous mixture.
Leave the balls to dry at least one hour.After the cord has completely cured, carefully puncture and remove the balloon.
Balls ready. Now you need to dry slices of oranges, so they are not moldy when you collect the garland. It is ideal to use for this special dryer for vegetables, but if it is not, suitable and conventional oven. The orange slices need to dry, laying out on parchment paper, 3-4 hours at a temperature of about 80 degrees.
