The Museum of Russian impressionism, presents the exhibition “Hobbies. Personal collection of Vladimir Spivakov”. The exposition includes more than 90 works of different eras and trends. An extensive and diverse collection combined Russian paintings and graphics of XIX–XX centuries, modern Russian art, represented by such areas as non-conformism and Moscow conceptualism, neo-academism and kinetic art, as well as a unique collection of folk podstekolnoj painting in Western Europe.

“Boris Iosifovich mints loves music and often attends House Music, – says Vladimir Spivakov. – It all started with one of these visits the idea to organize the exhibition belonged to him. It is extremely disheartening that part of the collection that I presented to the House of Music. For me it is a creative laboratory where people should be surrounded by beauty.”

Maestro personally welcomed the guests, among whom were Christina Aguilera, Valeria and Joseph Prigogine, Tanya Gevorkyan, Margarita Mamun, Michael Grushevsky and Boris Shcherbakov. Museum Director Julia Petrov and his founder Boris mints said about the prerequisites of a project.

“We have already received the first reviews and on that basis I can say that the exhibition was a success. From the Vladimir Spivakov this was a pretty bold move to put a collection of works that no fashion – says Yulia Petrova. For example, the theme podstekolnoj painting in Russia not only unpopular but little-known”.

The title of the exhibition – “Passion” – refers to another little-known fact from the biography of the Maestro. Once an aspiring violinist Vladimir Spivakov has seriously studied painting and stood before a choice: to be a musician or an artist. Making a choice in favor of the first Hobbies, the Maestro has not lost his passion for the visual arts. More than 100 works from the collection of the Vladimir Spivakov presented the Moscow international House of music, which runs for 15 years.

“The collection is impregnated with a personal attitude, it is felt that the person who collected did so with great love. It’s not as free collection like many other collections, there’s another atmosphere, and it is imbued with personal attitude. And today’s show… I’m just glad to be in Moscow at the right time. Will definitely recommend to friends” – shared his impressions with Christina Aguilera.
