The capital hosted the closing ceremony of the 38-th Moscow international film festival.

The red carpet of the closing ceremony of the Moscow film festival could certainly be described as much more vivid than the track opening a week ago. The long-awaited appearance on the evening of the President of the festival Nikita Mikhalkov held under a rough applause of the public and the incessant flash of cameras. The Director was absent at the opening ceremony due to pneumonia. For the main award show – the Golden statuette of St. George in the category “Best film” this year, there were 13 paintings from different countries, Russia was represented by the film “the Monk and the demon”. In the end, the main prize went to the Iranian film “Daughter.” Award for best actor also went to an actor from a movie-winner – Farhad Aslani. He was unable to attend the ceremony, and the prize for it was awarded to film Director Reza Mirkarimi. Best actress was named 13-year-old Teresa of variety malvar for his role in the Filipino film “Shroud” – it has also received the award the Director of bands. The statuette for “Best Director” went to PUK Grasten from Denmark for the film “the 37”. The painting “Lady B. story of a woman from North Korea,” directed by Chero young was the “best documentary” and “best short film” called the picture “Full selfie” from Nicole Brending from the United States.
